Fall 2021-2022
Good evening everyone, looking forward to a great new season,
A few reminders before we get this year started:
Classes are starting back up Tuesday, September 7th. We are so excited to see all our dancers for the fall season.
Once again, masks will be required along with sanitizing and safety measures to provide a safe environment for our dancers. The lobby will remain closed. Dancers will line up and Instructors/assistants will escort out dancers to the classroom. Parents of younger ones, please be sure to wait by the door for your child’s class dismissal.
Please see our first fundraiser (Mums sales-profits will go towards your child’s recital costumes in the Spring) and studio calendar of the season attached below.

Class parties / conferences 2021
The last week of classes for May 24-27th:
Class parties and parent conferences for pre- registration will be held during regular class times. Please bring snacks to share with your child’s class (drinks and paper products will be provided). Friday and Saturday classes will have parties/conferences at an alternative time:
o Pre-Ballet I/II (Sat 9:00 am) and Jazz/HH I/III (Sat 9:00 am)-Wednesday, May 26th at 4:15-5:00 PM.
o Tap II/III (5:45 PM) -Tuesday, May 25th 4:15-5:00 PM and Tap IV (Fri 4:15 PM)- Tuesday May 25th 5-5:45 PM.
o Pre-Modern I (Fri 4:15)-Wednesday, May 26th 4:15-5:00 PM.
Pre-Modern I/II (Fri 5:00)-Tuesday, May 25th 4:15-5:00 PM.
Pre-Modern IIA (Fri 5:00) and Pre-Modern II B-Tuesday, May 25th 7-8 PM.
o Apprenticeship (Fri 6:30)-Tuesday, May 25th 7-8 PM.

Recital 2021 update and reminders
Hello parents/guardians,
We wanted to send out a few reminders and update about this week:
-BTJ MASK POLICY for Wednesday May 19, Thursday May 20th and Saturday May 22nd at the Maryland theatre:
Patrons: Masks are recommended BUT not required.
Dancers: Wear masks when not dancing BUT optional when dancing.
-We will provide masks for those who decide to wear them. Please let us know Wednesday or Thursday at dress rehearsals.
-We will wear masks at the studio on Tuesday May 18th and Friday May 21st.
-Dress rehearsals are still closed to the public. Parents may wait in the lobby to wait for their child. Drop offs and picks will take place in the lobby.
Day of recital: parents will drop off and wait in the lobby. No parents should be backstage during the show. Our staff and backstage helpers will be there to aid your child.
-In person tickets and virtual tickets are still available for purchase, please contact the box office (301-790-2000) at the MD Theatre to purchase.
Recital DVDs: Ryan Smetzer is now selling USB along with DVDs online only, please see link:

Fall Recital Update 2020
*****Important Update******
As the situation keeps updating, Ballet and All That Jazz was informed that the capacity (100 guests) can be accommodated within phase 3 reopening guidance under the State of Maryland. With that said, the elementary school level recital will be on the same day as the middle school and high school dancers. The recital date is Sunday, October, 25th. We will send out further details on logistics (including showtimes) for the day as they are firmed up but no later than Oct 1st. Pre Ballet dancers will still be held at the studio on Saturday, October 17th, 2020.
